Our Purpose

The purpose of Calvary Baptist Church is to do what it takes to reach Russellville and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Calvary offers many activities for children, youth and adults to reach this vision.  Everything we do has the main purpose of telling people about the love of Jesus.  Calvary Baptist Church exists to honor and obey our Lord Jesus Christ by making and maturing disciples in Russellville and throughout the world. We exist at Calvary Baptist Church to accomplish this three-fold purpose:

Exaltation is the Christian’s ministry and responsibility to God, involving thanksgiving, praise and worship. (Matthew 22:37-38) Edification is the Christian’s ministry to other believers, involving teaching, encouraging and discipling. (1 Thessalonians 5:11) Evangelism is the Christian’s ministry to those who do not have a personal relationship with Christ, through prayer and sharing the Gospel. (Matthew 28:18-20)
